Hong Kong Mahjong measures hand value in faan, while Taiwanese Mahjong uses tai.

The table below shows a few common patterns and how they score in Hong Kong mahjong (faan) and Taiwanese mahjong (tai). It is not a complete list. Both styles have many more hands and combinations beyond what’s shown here. Additionally, both HK and Taiwanese mahjong have regional and group variations.
